To write, to talk about speech. This is something that this girl has been experiencing in one way or another for the last few weeks. As some may remember, she wore a while back a whole blog post in the third person. As then today she has decided to follow in those footsteps and write once again a blog in the third person rather then the first person like this girl normally tends to do.

Some of you may remember the blog this girl wrote a few months back, called trained to talk. She hopes that this blog will build and expand on that. Mostly by perhaps going into more variation and deeper into this. Now this girl realises that the style of this blog post and the subject may not to be everyone’s liking but she hopes nonetheless that most find this enlightening and enjoyable reading. As well as that she also hopes that

One thing this girl has realised, is how easy it is for her to slip into this form of both speaking and writing. She found a quote on another blog where a girl was saying why she explicitly would not use third speech. That girls reason was very much as follows: “Once you get into the habit of using certain speech, or typing restrictions, it’s very difficult to stop using them.

Obviously this girl realises that there is a certain kernel of truth in this. Perhaps it is a mindset, perhaps it is part of having an compliant mind. This girl won’t profess that she knows the answer. She knows that several dominant would point out that this is entirely because this girl has the mind of a slave and it is that part of her mind accepting and acknowledging this. This girl honestly doesn’t know. Maybe they are right, or perhaps it is something else…

I will write,

Yes, I am late in posting. Nothing new there. At least I am trying to get another blogpost out this time. Maybe a bit later then the Sunday or Saturday that I was planning but there are mitigating circumstances, at least there are in my head. Two things really that made life a royal pain in the backside. One work was very hectic and chaotic all day on Friday. Talk about hitting the ground running and not really stopping until I got home. It took me a long time to get over that day. But … it is past me now and  I have a week off. Yay, go me. :3

Secondly, as many probably have heard me bitch about, my heating is on the blink. Or rather, not as much my heating, my boiler. Which means I am currently left without any kind of warm water or the aforementioned heating. A bit of a palaver. The only way I have been able to mostly counter this is by heating my living room with candles. Each night I had about 5 large candles and dozens of tea lights lying around. Very atmospheric. I do need to make sure that I regularly re-air the room. That much candles can not be overly healthy. Thank god it is supposed to get warmer by the end of this week. Plus as I said I am on holiday, this does make the stress of getting ready for work at the moment a little bit less.

Anyway, I am sure you do not want to hear me wither on about the tragedies in my life. On the plus side, I have found a potential new writing tool. I got told recently about Scrivener, a tool that apparently is used a lot by academic to write their thesis. I am always looking out for things that can aid and assist me. So I looked for Scrivener and see whether they actually are useful. It certainly seems to be full of possibilities and I am do like the fact that they offer a typewriter mode. Having used that in Jotterpad a lot, it is something I love using. Mostly because that really does not distract me from anything else.

The downside so far? The linux version that I am using will no longer be developed by Scrivener. Mostly because they choose to work on the windows and mac platform instead. That is something that I really not like. But there is also very little I can do about this. Admittedly I also wished that the typewriter mode would contain an option to actually pale the next that you are not writing. Stick to the current paragraph. I have found that this enables me to be a lot more productive and not be distracted. A bit zen perhaps about staying in the here and now of what I am writing. Rather then letting me distracted about what is in the past. But all in all it does seem to be a very versatile editor. It may be worth for me to eventually switch away from the likes of Abiword or LibreOffice (With abiword being my go to writing. As I said, time will tell.

Well well well, it has been a funny old year. But yes it is March again. And this time it has really snug up on me as well. Time does fly.

As many who read my blog will know, this year, was steeped in upheaval. With a new job, losing our house in SL, and me stepping away from my Mistress after she has been gone for over a year from our virtual world. Still no trace.

In the mean time, I have started on answering a question posted by the Lady Gotham, a while back. But a very busy weekend (work, not kink related), meant that I never got any time to sit down and write. Still I wanted to quickly put this post up to announce that, of course, I will be opening my blog and participate in the March blogger challenge.

So what is this all about? Some of you all may know this already. Throughout the blogosphere, March is known as the question and answer month. I have run the March Q&A challenge for the last four years previous as well, so I think we are sticking with this.

So, the rules:

So here’s the deal ….
You ask me a question and I’ll answer them.

So for a whole month long you get to quick-fire,
interrogate, cross examine me to your hearts content.

I’ll end this neatly .. on the 31st of March at midnight UTC.

In return, I promise I will answer all and any question you will ask me. Even if that answer is “none of your business”. And no don’t go asking where I live if you are not prepared for an answer like that or much in line.

Leave your question in my comments,
poke me within Second Life,

or

send me an email at lex (dot) berchot (a-t) googlemail (dot) com.

Hopefully until soon!
Stay safe, ask questions, and have fun!

There are somethings you hope for in life, a nice job, a nice quiet place to live where you feel safe from harm and above a good health. And it’s in that latter that things are seemingly going horribly awry. A couple of weeks I had a stinking cold, which seemed to coincide with the height of flu/cold going around. So with everything over and all, I thought that would be the last of it. Turns out it could not be further from the truth and the cold is back with a vengeance, bah.

As you can see I am feeling rather suitably sorry for myself tonight. But being under the weather is at least a little bit of an excuse. I just completely lost my train of thought here, so it took me a good five minutes to figure out what I had a good excuse for. But yes, I have an excuse for feeling a little bit sorry.

I like to remind everyone that this month is the March Bloggers Q&A month, so feel free to leave any questions that you want to ask. If you ask me questions over email or in-world, please be aware to actually note which one you want for the blog. Since people tend to ask me a lot of questions, sometimes it does get a bit confusing what people mean, and I hate to be rude to not answer their questions until a week or so later. So start asking people!

To star the questions of, I actually found several on Strawberry Singh’s blogging challenge page. I was looking for something light and easy to blog about  and I found two. This week will be the first edition, called “Have you ever SecondLifed”, and I will keep the 20 personal questions for another time when despair, ill health or lack of inspections strikes me.

So let’s get started and see if I have ever …. Second Lifed.

How does a year go past. On the success of the March blogger Q&A challenge in 2014, comes the much waited and long longed for sequel of 2015! Now with even more oomph (or something like that). Of course this technically means I have now also fulfilled my “one blog a week” directive. But do not worry my dear readers, I shall post faithfully at the usual time!

So here goes as per usual. Some of you all may know this already. Throughout the blogosphere, March is known as the question and answer month. I have run the March Q&A challenge for the last three years previous as well, so I think we are sticking with this. So, the rules:

Best laid plans, roads covered with best intentions. That seems to be my life as of late. Yes, I suppose I am feeling a little bit sorry for myself in many ways. It annoys me to know end that my energy levels are so very low and that I seem to be both missing and lacking the motivation to write and the drive to delve deeper into BDSM topics.

In essence the last few months, or rather ever since I moved house and still trying to fix things and get things squared away and sorted (why on earth do I have so much stuff!!). Just remember if you wonder why on earth I am still writing about this, think just for a moment if you will how much it irks me having to see all this in real life. 🙂 So perhaps a little bit of sympathy? Please?

On the plus side, I am making, tiny bits of progress. I am hoping to have most of the boxes squared away in some fashion by the time Christmas rolls around. I shall have people over to stay about prior to Christmas and after. Hopefully even some over New Year, which means I should at least be able to offer them a bed.

For those of my readers in the states, I do hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and then you enjoyed your time, hopefully with family and/or loved ones. It’s something that does not happen here at this side of the `pond’, although we do have the odd habbit creeping in such as “Black Friday“. I am not entirely sure if I approve of that, perhaps I shall dedicate my thoughts on that another time. Now is perhaps not the time.

It is however time for the main part of my blog! As I said, not having much inspiration and drive, forces me to look for the more light hearted content that allows me to fulfil my obligation to write. Yes, sometimes it does feel like an obligation, but on the other hand, now I am pounding away on my keyboard, listening to classical music (I always write better to classical music then say songs), I feel a certain satisfaction I am guessing. The fact that I find things to talk about, and if nothing else to write about; which gives you all a little window into my existence, drives me onwards. It’s strange how often the first five hundred words are always the hardest: Once that is done the rest often flows..

But onwards, let’s talk about Second Life Friends!

A week down the road and the March Blogger Q&A has officially come to an end. I thank you all for those who have participated and asked me questions, whether that was through Second Life, through e-mail, or in the comments sections. Admittedly, I am more then a little surprised that compared to other blogs, the amount of personal questions so far have been minimal, or perhaps better phrased down-right absent. But who knows in the coming years they will come.

As promised this week, I am to write about tasks and how one can successfully apply tasks into a BDSM relationship. It’s not the first time I have written about tasks (see my blogs “Setting tasks within relationships“, “More about setting tasks in d/s relationships“, and “About setting tasks“). Needless to say, it seems that tasks is both a subject that remains to fascinate people and baffle them at the same time. Perhaps baffle is the wrong word to choose here. I think more than anything that people struggle coming up with tasks that are useful for a submissive and look for information and inspiration.

Not to mention that these blogs keep scoring consistently high across the board. Although saying that. I just have had a look at my stats. Just in, the all time highest search term for my blog with a total of 2,832 hits, is actually “butts“. You people have a seriously unhealthy fascination with my butt. All I can say: stay classy Internet, well played.

It is perhaps then with no great surprise that two of the question I have received for the March Blogger Q&A dealt with tasks and thus, as promised these will be the last one that I am going to answer.
