The dress is *ICING*’s addition for the Vintage Fair [and here] and was first advertised on plurk. The dress is a gorgeous two colour number with small polka dots. There are six colours to choose from all in total, but displayed here by yours truely are: pink, navy and red.

Enjoy, and I, for one, can’t wait until the Fair starts in two days

The first dress I got was in wonderful blue as you can see me showing it off belong lounging happy at the Victorian beach cottage on our land..

The second dress is the result of colouring the dress in green. The dress Miko made was the result of the same dress worn by the gorgeous Miss Christina Hendricks, I must say that this dress is certainly one of my favourites, especially in so many gorgeous collours. So from the bottom of my heart, Thank you Miko!!

If you like this dress, you certainly can’t go wrong to head down to *G Fields* in Second Life and pick up a pair (or two or three) of ribbon slingbacks. They come in a gorgeous range of colours and quite possibly well suited to go with the Joan dress.

Last but not least, while I was over at *G Fields* yesterday I discovered the wonderful little flower garden there and couldn’t resist the chance for a photo. Now normally I tend to do a little bit of post processing, but this time, it came out so perfect I decided to publish the shot as is….

the gorgeous dress I am wearing in the picture, is called Minuet and how could it be else, made by *icing*.The only thing you perhaps don’t quite get from this photo is the cute little bows on both shoulders.

All in all, those dresses made  a very welcome addition to my wardrobe

How much can change in a single year …

A lot it seems. I know I largely have been quiet here, having neither felt the need or the inspiration to put my thoughts to the virtual paper. But today, of all days .. I want to write. *smiles*

The story really starts, over a year ago about 4 months earlier to be exact. A chance meeting again, perhaps. But we got talking, just short IM’s here and there. And over time those grew out to longer messages.

I took the step forward of asking her if we could exchange friendship. A moment that felt like an eternity passed. My heart beating in my chest. But oh the happiness when she agreed.

From then on, things slowly changed, we started to talk more and more and deeper about the things that interested us, where to go. It soon became quite clear what the future was going to be. I happily sat at her feet, listening, explaining and talking the hours away.

Then .. a year ago. After having been shopping, we went to a quiet Sim and sat down, and talked, freely, openly. For perhaps the first time and last time completely equal. And it felt so weird. It was needed. We talked quietly and laughed. One of the things I have always loved about Her is the dry sense of humour and wit she can display.

And then the moment was there, I knelt before her and she held the collar out and I slipped it around my neck. I bend my head forward and lifted the hair clear as she performed the final act …. and locked the collar around my neck.

That ….was a year ago.

A year has since come and gone and I am still hers. And I am still happy. Very much so. And there are things I never expected, she taught me how to dress extremely well. And worst of all .. she taught me to like pink … and not forcibly, but subtly like water flowing. *shakes her head and smiles*.

I am sure that I come across as a lovestruck kitten, but it’s been a wonderful years. With some downs and a lot of ups and at her feet. I think I have learned, grown. At least, I like to think I have.

I have not much more to say, except this: I am looking forward to the next year at her heel, being and learning, and that over the time we might grow closer and closer, and learning and enjoying each other more…

I leave you with the following words, directed at Her … my Mistress …

The outfit released this month is called “Lola” and is described as:

“A classic vintage silk high-waisted pencil skirt with a coordinating silk blouse. This outfit accentuates your curves and just oozes silky sophistication! The blouse is tied at the neck with a pussy bow and has cute capped sleeves.”

So having bought both outfits, because I just know that Mistress will love the pink skirt on me. I decided to play a little game of mix and match. However it turned out rather hard to find a decent-ish location for a secretary or librarian type photo shoot:

The outfits themselves are really decently priced at L$ 250,- each. Of course being a compete sucker for these kind of clothes I bought both outfits. And then started mixing and matching and the result can be seen below…

One of the things I found gave an better effect for me, was making the puffed sleeves and bow to make it slightly more transparent (about 20 percent) just so it got a really nice effect.

In the above outfit I switched the pussy-bows around which creates a more scarf like effect. But being a sticker for matching outfits, I decided to also make the bows matching to the skirts.

An the last one .. where just the skirts are swapped around. If you have run into me in-world in the last day or so, the above outfit, is the one you would have seen me wearing.

So, for L$ 500,- instead of just two outfits, you get really four, up to a maximum of eight (!) different outfits. So a big thank you to Vita Bella’s proprietor and designer Anabella Llewellyn for putting out a beautiful outfit.

Being the curious person myself, I decided to take a look. Surprisingly they already have a Linux viewer ready for download, sadly it seems Lindens haven’t caught on to the 64bit movement yet.

So after loading and starting the new client, let us have a look to what is going on:

1 – Menus – Directly noticeable is that the menus have changed completely. So while this make sense for newer users, for older users like me, this means a complete new learning curve.

2 – Screen estate - The new bars at the top, take up way too much screen estate, I like a nice clean UI.

3 – Colour choice – Strange enough not a colour choice inside. Even the themes offering a dual choice of skins in the old viewer has been gone. While something like the Emerald Viewer offers a myriad of choices, Linden Labs in their infinite wisdom have decided to just go with very dark colours that give me a headache.

4 – Icons – I find the icons quite a lot more confusing than the old “box” icons that immediately show me what is a prim and what not. And Why is the trash the same icon as any other folder? You wonder if any of them actually read a book on interface design at all.

5 – Sidebar – Looks okay, perhaps need to get used to this but it takes up again extra screen space. A major bug with the viewer comes immediately comes into view. Clicking the sidebar .. makes your HUD objects shift. Seriously .. what the heck? Since when is that acceptable?

Okay, is there anything good about the new viewer? In my opinion not as much. sure it looked rather licked. But form should never triumph over function. Once again it seems that Linden Lab pushes things through because it suits them rather than, what is wanted. Looking at the plethora of Open Source viewers that are out there, think Emerald, and look at the amount of extra features that are already implemented there.

One thing I did notice, and this is probably a pure Linux issue, sound works properly this time. Before, with the 1.x series of the Second Life viewer, the viewer directly speaks to the sound hardware device. I mean come on, how do you even come up with stuff like this. At least the new viewer hands off the sound to the operating systems sound system to deal with it properly.

So, all in all, once again the Lindens have pushed something which nobody really is waiting for, without listening or thinking of what their established users would want. So far I am utterly unimpressed by the viewer and it reaks largely of fail.

But sometimes, just sometimes there are toys that just beg for you to be taken out and put on display. A good example of this are the Japanese clover clamps by Linus Daxter. Having seen them in world, I just knew I wanted a pair. So after a quick search and I found them and …

mmmmm … me likes.

So after a quick fitting I decided the only way this set could be shown off was to properly display myself, and what better for a submissive to display her, in nothing else that a corset, heels, stockings, gloves and the optional gag and a smile?

What else can I say .. I had quite some fun playing with these and while I haven’t discovered all the features (with the RLV functionality enabled, it should be able for someone to pull on the chains or just pull them off (*youch*)). The best part of these clamps is that they don’t come with the typical huge nipples that one normally sees with piercings.

All in all a quite nice toy…

For those still looking at my blog in hope for an update, here is a couple. I haven’t blogged in a absolute ages for various reasons I am not going to rehash. But for now I am back with a couple of posts.

As you probably all noticed, there is a new header image on my blog. And about time too! The previous one was rather old. And for those that know me a bit better in-world will have noticed that I have ventured a bit more outside these days and that I indeed now have some colour.

I am not 100% satisfied with the header image just yet. But it is an improvement. The picture has been taken at our home. “Our” you will ask? Yes, some things have changed in the last couple of months.

I am currently with a new wonderful Mistress, called Miss Tungsten, after being released from Miss Thalia, with whom I am still very close and she is still one of my best friends in-world and count my blessings will remain so for the ever foreseeable future.

The chair in the background is Mistress’, a chair of course where I spend a lot of time kneeling in front of, with absolute joy and pleasure

(Gosh, I really should stop gushing).

But as often, life does move on and life finds ways and change is the only constant factor we can count on. Anyway, the real reason for me picking up the blogpen will become apparent in the next post.

Some people are just so darn helpful. It seems that there is a meme going around the Internet these days which was started by Marnix Malifozik, who wanted to start a meme and see how far he could run with it. This was in turn picked up on the New World Notes blog. And thus the wildfire started to spread.
